I hope everyone is having a great week and you are healthy and happy! I wanted to share a few interesting points on foot soaks... and WHY they are a necessity in our busy, crazy lifestyles? Let me just start with this... Your feet go through torture throughout the day, as in 8-hour shifts or longer on them, and they support your body weight! YIKES! (Did I mention that I used to wear 2-3 inch heels daily for many years, OUCH!) Yet-- they are the most neglected part of the body! WHY? I don't know why, but I do know that I make darn sure that I take care of mine now. Plus, if you take care of them, you can be sure that they will take care of you too (and they look prettier in the Summer months with sandals.) I also ALWAYS use the top of the line 100% natural salts and organic ingredients...don't buy anything refined, as the benefits will be greatly reduced. We don't want that, right. Now, let me explain a few ingredients in my Natural Foot Soaks and how they are wonderful for your tootsies:
EPSOM SALTS ~ These great white salts are very high in magnesium, which is very important in helping our body's functions. Magnesium levels have dropped in the last century, due to our stressful lifestyles. Some people have trouble digesting this mineral through food, so it's very reassuring to know that foot soaks would give the same benefits. There are so many other benefits just to name a few here;
blood pressure regulation,
helps the cells use calcium more properly
lowering cholesterol
boosting immune system
prevention of diabetes
regulating over 325 enzymes
reducing inflammation
relaxing the body
softens the feet
anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties
muscle pain
detoxify the body (very important one)
water retention
DEAD SEA SALTS ~ These therapeutic and exotic salts from the Dead Sea include 21 minerals that detox and cleanse our bodies. One of the minerals is magnesium, which helps to reduce water retention... we have all had that right? It also contains potassium, which helps to balance the moisture and energizes the body.
I also add wonderful organic herbs and oils to my foot soaks... they create that spa-like atmosphere, which makes everyone's day! Oils such as tea tree, lavender, peppermint, and rosemary soothe the body and mind.
What are your thoughts now about foot soaks? I will have to admit that I never knew that these power-packed salts could play such an important part in our body processes. I get so excited for my weekly foot soaks (2 times a week), and my feet say thank you. You will start to feel healthier, happy, sophisticated and pampered-- it's like having your own spa... right in your home. Oh, another fun part of foot soaks-- you can add things like marbles or small pebbles on the bottom of your foot tub, and they will give you a foot massage! Foot soak, foot massage!!! Win-Win!

Have a WONDERFUL week!

Why I LOVE Organic Cocoa Butter...
A little history in a few words...in theory, the Olmecs were the first people to discover cocoa beans as a drink. (1500-400 BC). They would crush the cocoa beans, mix them with water, and add spices. They began cultivating cocoa beans in Mexico, and this fad caught on with the Mayan and Aztec cultures. It symbolized abundance and religion practices. Then came the 16th century with Christopher Columbus, and he was said to have seen the "brown gold," and soon the Spanish adopted it and started to cherish it, adding cane sugar, vanilla, and spices. YUM!
Chocolate became a luxurious treat with the English and the first chocolate bar was created in 1830 in Great Britain. Thank goodness for this! Chocolate became a love affair with everyone! Finally, sweet maker Milton Hershey spots chocolate making equipment at the Worlds Fair in Chicago and begins production at a factory in Pennsylvania. And hence, the Hershey Kiss was born! Now that I have your attention, and your mouth is watering (I may have to go buy some now)... let me chat about Cocoa butter for the skin.
I LOVE, love cocoa butter, first of all, it is retrieved from cacao seeds, and melts with body temperature... which makes it easy to absorb into the skin. Here are some benefits:
* It helps with scars
* Ability to moisturize
* Smoothes tone and texture of skin; therefore, helping damaged skin.
* Protection of skin
* Did I already mention that it smells like chocolate?! Win-Win.
