Why I LOVE Organic Cocoa Butter...

A little history in a few words...in theory, the Olmecs were the first people to discover cocoa beans as a drink. (1500-400 BC). They would crush the cocoa beans, mix them with water, and add spices. They began cultivating cocoa beans in Mexico, and this fad caught on with the Mayan and Aztec cultures. It symbolized abundance and religion practices. Then came the 16th century with Christopher Columbus, and he was said to have seen the "brown gold," and soon the Spanish adopted it and started to cherish it, adding cane sugar, vanilla, and spices. YUM!

Chocolate became a luxurious treat with the English and the first chocolate bar was created in 1830 in Great Britain. Thank goodness for this! Chocolate became a love affair with everyone! Finally, sweet maker Milton Hershey spots chocolate making equipment at the Worlds Fair in Chicago and begins production at a factory in Pennsylvania. And hence, the Hershey Kiss was born! Now that I have your attention, and your mouth is watering (I may have to go buy some now)... let me chat about Cocoa butter for the skin.

I LOVE, love cocoa butter, first of all, it is retrieved from cacao seeds, and melts with body temperature... which makes it easy to absorb into the skin. Here are some benefits:

* It helps with scars

* Ability to moisturize

* Smoothes tone and texture of skin; therefore, helping damaged skin.

* Protection of skin

* Did I already mention that it smells like chocolate?! Win-Win.
